And it's not only way easy to install, but to use as well.

don't get fooled by the "alpha" state, this system is ready to run...

the olny flaw i've seen so far (and reported) was that everytime you download some file from the system, it extracts the last character (pdf becomes pd, jpg, jp... annoying, i know)

Big difference between Basecamp and this tool is that Basecamp is a service that cost money when activeCollab is an open source script that can be installed on the server.
