CMS From Scratch is FREE!
Date Posted: Dec 09, 2008 Reviewed Item: CMS from Scratch Rating:I am a freelance web developer who does a lot of small to medium websites. A lot of times the website needs to have small updates done by the clients.
CMSFS is great because it's free, you create the templates from scratch and it requires no database!
It does have a bit of a learning curve in the beginning trying to figure out how to do things, but once I wrapped my head around how it worked, a little light bulb went off. Then it all made sense and was very simple to use.
You can check my site at www.foxtaildesign.com to see CMSFS in action!
Very usefull

Date Posted: Nov 17, 2008 Reviewed Item: Leightbox Rating:The original lightbox is great but I can't run ajax on the same call/click in all browsers. The Leightbox is great too but the div doesn't always show up in the middle of the screen like the original.
CMS for designers
Date Posted: Nov 13, 2008 Reviewed Item: CMS from Scratch Rating:Two things have changed since Ben posted his comment:
1) CMSfS has improved.
2) It is now FREE and open source!
I stumbled upon CMSfS after looking at Drupal, Joomla, and other "big" CMS options. Those CMS force you to adapt your design onto a preset skeleton and seem designed for programmers, not designers. With CMSfS, on the other hand, you start with the design and adapt the CMS to it. It allows you to quickly split a design into separate includes and decide which includes are editable by the CMS.
While it is probably not appropriate for really big sites (I haven't tested its limits), it's the perfect solution for the typical 10-20 page site. The "client" editing mode makes it extremely simple to edit the content without touching the structure.
There are still a few rough edges, which is why I withheld half a star, but it is improving fast and Ben is very responsive.
Sure is best
Date Posted: Oct 03, 2008 Reviewed Item: Symfony Rating:Symfony is a true RAD Framework, it is always mistakenly compared to Joomla and Drupal, which are ready made examples of what can be achieved with Symfony. I love it and recommend it to all serious developers out there looking to speed the process of web application development.
